The views from Preluna Hotel & Spa are legendary and it almost feels like you are hanging right over the water, with the Mediterranean extending beyond the horizon. They can be enjoyed from the penthouse lounge and balcony as well any of the rooms with a sea view and private balcony. Down below is the Sliema Promenade, a coastal walkway that takes you to a wide variety of beaches, restaurants and attractions. The area behind the hotel has a different flavour, the cute town of Sliema full of shops and cafes.
You sense the Mediterranean flair when arriving in the lobby, the soft blue and green colours reflective of a sunny island escape. Rooms are modern and expertly equipped, 280 of them spread across ten floors. While this is large for Malta’s standards the service always comes with a personal touch and Preluna is known for the warmth of its welcome.
From this coastal location you could easily spend a day in the city or a day exploring the rest of the island. Or you could spend it in the sun: the 4* Preluna Hotel & Spa has a private outdoor pool and beach, just across the road from the main entrance. A quiet indoor pool and sauna is within the complex while a wide range of spa and sports facilities can be enjoyed on-site or in the immediate vicinity – you’ll even find hot tubs on the roof terrace.
The Japanese and Italian restaurants at the hotel are popular with visitors and locals alike, featuring gourmet cuisine in a contemporary setting. The main restaurant is the real show stopper, with the fabulous panoramas accompanying international buffet-style food. There is also a bar and grill at the pool and cooling bars for grabbing a drink.
You can hear the soft lapping of waves from the large swimming pool on Preluna’s private beach (open May to October). Surrounded by dozens of sunbeds, the pool also has a special children’s section and a small bar. The indoor pool is quiet and relaxing.
It can be hard to peel yourself away from Preluna’s spa. There’s a heated indoor pool with two jacuzzis, a large sauna area, a fully equipped gym and the famous hot tubs on the roof. Treatments and massages can be enjoyed at additional cost.
