Baggage Allowances
On all our package holidays you are able to add on hold bags at an extra charge at the time of booking, the allowance will vary depending on airline and will be displayed on your invoice.

Hold luggageA 20kg allowance hold luggage can be purchased at an extra charge to be checked-in. Each passenger can purchase up to 3 checked bags of 20 kilos.
These can be purchased either when making the initial booking or can be added to a reservation via the My Booking facility up to 2 hours before the scheduled flight departure time. A higher baggage fee of €40 per person/per one way flight applies when checked bags are purchased after initial booking via My Booking, a Ryanair call centre or airport ticket desk. During peak travel periods, such as Christmas/Easter/Summer and on selected routes, the fee for a checked bag will be €35/£35 per person, per one way flight.
The pooling or sharing of purchased checked baggage allowances is permitted with others included on the same flight reservation when checking in together.
FeesChecked baggage fees are fees due on purchased checked bags.
Fees may vary from time to time but it is the rates in force at the time you book and/or pay for your checked baggage allowance which apply.
Checked bags are charged per person, per one way flight.
Higher baggage fees apply when checked bags are purchased via a Ryanair call centre, at airport ticket desks, during peak periods and on selected routes.
Any passenger exceeding their personal checked baggage allowance will be charged for excess baggage at the rate prevailing on the day of travel. This is currently £10/€10 per kilo (or local currency equivalent).

Hand luggage extrasAs long as your Air Malta hand baggage complies with the above, it can be in any form, whether it is a backpack, shoulder bag, or a small rolling suitcase. Please note that you must be able to place and retrieve the item of baggage safely in the overhead lockers without assistance.
Any hand baggage exceeding these dimensions will not be accepted as hand baggage, and will count towards your checked-in baggage allowance.
Oversized cabin baggage will be refused at the boarding gate, or where available, placed in the hold of the aircraft and charged and charged the applicable rate. Applicable Excess baggage fees for oversized cabin baggage refused at the Boarding Gate shall be payable only via credit card, and no cash payments are accepted. If you are unsure, check at the Bag Drop desk before going through security, where you will be advised if fees are applicable.
Other items you can take on board
Apart from the allowed weight for hand luggage, you are also allowed to take certain items with you on the flight. These include cameras, small umbrellas, netbook/tablet cases and purses. However, regulations may vary at the airport, so you may wish to pack these items in your main hand luggage or be prepared to do so when you arrive at the airport.

By Piece or by Weight?Your checked-in baggage is counted by pieces rather than by weight alone. This means you can carry a maximum amount of weight in the number of pieces that your ticket is entitled to. Baggage-pooling is not permitted between passengers traveling on the same routing to the same final destination.

Useful Travel Information
In accordance with aviation rules, all liquids, gels, aerosols and similar substances are subject to restrictions.
- Each liquid container carried in cabin baggage must contain no more than 100ml.
- These liquids must be carried separately in transparent, sealed bags of maximum 1 (one) litre volume, 20cm x 20cm.
- Each passenger may carry only 1 (one) such bag.
- At the last security checkpoint, you must take the sealed bag containing your liquids out of your bag and pass it through the x-ray machine separately.
- Medicines (on the condition that a prescription made out to the passenger by name or a health report/document stating that the passenger must use the medicine is produced, and that the medicine is in its original packaging), and
- Baby foods (on the condition that the baby is travelling on the flight and only the amount required for the duration of the journey is taken on board) may be carried in cabin baggage
- At the control point, security personnel may require that you document your exceptional circumstance and/or taste your medicine/baby food/liquid.
- All liquids including water, syrup and drinks,
- Creams, lotions, oils (including cosmetic), cologne, perfume, all kinds of makeup including mascara (excluding solid lipsticks),
- Shaving foam, deodorants, all materials of a consistency of paste including toothpaste,
- All non-solid foodstuffs and jellies including jam, honey, yoghurt, molasses and tomato paste,
- Other substances such as contact lens fluids, shampoos, sprays and aerosols, and other substances similar to those listed.
